The Department of Laboratory helps in the precise diagnosis of disease using laboratory methods. Nephrology is the study of the normal functioning of kidneys as well as treatment or diseases related to it. Kidneys are essential for filtering out waste products and excess water from the body.
The Department of Nephrology provides comprehensive health care for patients with different types of renal (kidney) diseases. Nephrology deals with the diagnosis as well as treatment of kidney diseases, including hypertension, electrolyte disturbances., acute and chronic renal diseases caused by diabetes mellitus, hypertension, stone disease, infections.
Patients are referred to nephrology experts for multiple reasons, such as chronic kidney disease, acute kidney failure, hematuria, kidney stones, proteinuria hypertension, and disorders of electrolytes or acid/base.
This department does Hemodialysis, in which the patient’s blood is filtered by an artificial kidney. Those with end-stage renal disease are given the option of hemodialysis.
The state-of-the-art dialysis unit has been in place, providing quality dialysis, doing dialysis round the clock, including ICU dialysis, which is very important in critically ill patients and separate beds for patients and OPD, IPD patient care is done with utmost care.
